Democrat MPs Ordered to Vote Against New Parliament Speaker

Democratic Party (DP) Chairman Lulzim Basha has ordered the MPs not to vote for the election of Lindita Nikolla in the post of Speaker of Parliament. 

The meeting of the DP Parliamentary Group has ended, after the first session of the Assembly. In this meeting was discussed about the afternoon session in the Assembly where the new Speaker of Parliament will be voted. 

Albaniandailynews.com learned that the leader of the Democrats has asked the MPs to vote unanimously against the election of Lindita Nikolla. "I do not want to repeat the precedent of 2017, when there were votes in favor of Ruçi," said Basha. 

This meeting of the Parliamentary Group was not attended by some members, who after the plenary session accompanied Sali Berisha as he left. They are MPs Flamur Noka and Edi Paloka. Whereas, Tritan Shehu, after accompanying Berisha, also participated in the meeting at the Blue Headquarters.
