DOS Official Urges Kosovo, Serbia to Implement Ohrid Deal

The US Undersecretary of State, Victoria Nuland, has repeated the request of the USA to Kosovo and Serbia to start the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, after a meeting with the EU envoy for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Miroslav Lajcak.

She also emphasized that the US supports "the EU's three-point plan as the best way to resolve the crisis" in northern Kosovo.

"I welcome my old friend Miroslav Lajcak with pleasure. We call on Kosovo and Serbia to reduce tensions immediately and start implementing the Ohrid commitments. We continue to support the EU's three-pronged plan as the best way to resolve the crisis," Nuland wrote on Twitter.

Kosovo and Serbia reached an agreement towards the normalization of relations on February 27 in Brussels, as well as agreed on the Annex for its implementation in Ohrid on March 18.

Even the Ohrid Agreement requires the parties to implement all the agreements reached so far in the dialogue for the normalization of relations, including the one for the formation of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo.
