DP Chair of Durres Blasts Govt of Doing Nothing for Quake-Affected

The leader of the Democratic Party in Durres, Ferdinand Xhaferri through a press statement showed dissatisfaction for the mismanagement, as he says, of the situation after the earthquake of November 26, 2019.

According to him, although schools are being rebuilt rapidly, through what he calls corrupt tenders, almost nothing has been done for the DS3, DS4 and DS5 apartment buildings in Durres.

"The way the tragedy caused by the earthquake of November 26 is being administered, proves to us that it does not matter where you are: In the Municipality of Durres, at the Albanian Development Fund or at the Office of Arben Ahmetaj. What brings these actors together is: Greed to Take Advantage of Misfortune and Why?

For educational institutions, out of 13, it was decided to rebuild 29 including schools that were not damaged, where classes were held after the earthquake.

The constructions in the schools started without having the Construction permit. Does Prime Minister Rama know that when he was on July 11 to closely follow the works in the school "Shaqe Mazreku", the building was without a construction permit.

But while greed has led them to operate quickly to close school tenders and start work even without a construction permit (for SPAK it is not a criminal offense because it is about Edi Rama) for apartment buildings DS3, DS4 and DS5 in Durres almost nothing has been done. Only 8 buildings have collapsed in Manez, 7 in Sukth and 7 in Durres and no one knows when they will be built. Also, it is not known when and where the severely damaged buildings will be rebuilt," said Xhaferri.
