Eid al-Adha, Bujar Spahiu Appeals to Believers Not to Neglect Family
Family, children, parents, love for God and for each other have been the keywords of the message given this Tuesday by the head of the Muslim Community of Albania, Bujar Spahiu in the ceremony held for Eid al-Adha.
He stressed that one of the costs that today's man pays by running only after this world, is the neglect of the family, so this day is to reflect and return attention to the family. Spahiu further said that records of domestic violence are growing, just like the number of divorces, calling for more responsibility, to become more sensitive.
"Dear sisters and brothers present in this square, and all of you who follow us through the screen, today we have gathered to celebrate Eid al-Adha. The feast symbolizes man's love for the Lord of the universe. This holiday, like any holiday in Islam, carries high meaning and values.
Holidays in Islam are not consumer holidays, they are worship and joy at the same time. Eid al-Adha is a holiday that reminds us how high man's devotion to God must be.
And this we learn from the determination of Prophet Ibrahim (a.s.).
From the unparalleled patience of Ismail a.s and the heroic attitude from the revered mother, the mother of Ismail (as). God in the Qur'an describes the event in these words: "We enjoyed it with a guy who will be gentle. And when he (the son) came to work with him, he said: O my son! I saw in a dream that I should slaughter you. Look, what do you think? He said: O my father! Do what you are commanded, and you will find me, if Allah wills, one of the patient."
Dear believers, human life is a journey from this world to the hereafter. This is the law of God. In today's modern society, life is very hectic. This momentum is the rush to succeed in material things, even though we all know that this world will not be left to anyone. One of the costs that today's man pays by running only after this world, is the neglect of the family. I want to bring this to your attention today. After all days like today should serve us to reflect," emphasized Spahiu.
