The Prosecutor's Office at the Elbasan Court of First Instance announces that it filed this Wednesday in the Elbasan Court of First Instance the request for the extradition to Turkey of the Turkish citizen Faruk Fatih Ozer, who is accused of fraud with cryptocurrencies. 

The Turkish justice authorities have transmitted through the Ministry of Justice the complete materials related to the request for extradition to Turkey of citizen Faruk Fatih Ozer, wanted internationally after the Peace Court of the First Instance No. 7 in Anatolian Istanbul with the decision dated 07.05 .2021 has assigned to this person the security measure "Arrest in prison" for some criminal offenses committed in Turkey. 

"The Prosecutor's Office at the Elbasan Court of First Instance announces that today, on 28.09.2022, it filed with the Court of First Instance Elbasan the request for the extradition to Turkey of the Turkish citizen arrested on 30.08.2022, Faruk Fatih Ozer. The Turkish justice authorities have transmitted through the Ministry of Justice the complete materials related to the request for extradition to Turkey of citizen Faruk Fatih Ozer, wanted internationally after the Peace Court of the First Instance No. 7 in Anatolian Istanbul with the decision dated 07.05 .2021 has assigned to this person the security measure 'Arrest in prison' for some criminal offenses committed in Turkey", it is stated in the official announcement of the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan. 

Faruk Ozer was arrested on August 30 while he was vacationing in the Himara area of ??Albania. He was wanted internationally for fraud through cryptocurrencies. It is alleged that Ozer had benefited an amount of 2 billion euros through cryptocurrency scams.
