Court of Appeal has left unchanged the security measures for the 45 arrested as part of the anti-drug operation in Elbasan, where four criminal groups that distributed drugs in different cities of this district were hit.

Specifically, 35 of them will continue to stay in prison. Meanwhile, 7 others are required to appear at the court and 3 others will remain under "house arrest".

This operation took place on June 26 of this year in the early hours of the morning in Elbasan, where 45 people were escorted to the police while seven others were declared wanted.

During the operation in which 490 police officers were engaged, 52 apartments and 18 premises were searched, where cocaine, heroin, weapons and a sum of money were seized.

Due to the large number of those arrested, the Police used a bus to transfer them to the Directorate of Tirana. During the announcement of the operation at that time, the Police Director of Elbasan announced that among those arrested there were people with higher education.
