Head of Constitutional Court Declares the Ends of Her Mandate
The head of the Constitutional Court, Holta Zacaj gave up this Thursday from the debate over the interpretation of her mandate in this institution.
After saying just two days ago that she will requires the opinion of the Venice Commission on her mandate, today she said that she will leave.
"In the name of the public interest, in defense of the institution I lead, and to avoid constitutional disputes, today, December 12, 2024, I decided to address the Meeting of Judges in the exercise of my responsibilities as a member of this Court, to declare the end of my mandate as a constitutional judge," said Zacaj, who just two days ago informed that her mandate must last until December 2025.
