Deputy Prime Minister, Erjon Brace 'Resigns'

Erion Brace warned his resignation this Wednesday from the position of Deputy Prime Minister of Albania through a coded message in his social media.

In a post on his official "Facebook" account, Brace wrote that everything has an end, while emphasizing that he feels honored to have served for the last 24 years to the people in need and not only.

Precisely to give this message, Brace chose a video from the serious event of November 26, 2019, where Albania was hit by a powerful earthquake that caused 51 deaths.

From Thumana, next to the Former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçhi, Brace calmed the citizens after another powerful earthquake was registered in those moments.

"Do not move, do not move. Do not move. Nothing! Keep calm. Commands, there are people under the rubble. Let’s move a little bit there, that’s the pillar. Please, decide forward", Brace is heard saying to the citizens.

Brace took over as Deputy Prime Minister on December 28, 2018, and what remains to be seen is whether Brace will step down from politics, citing his message mentioning his 24-year contribution.

Meanwhile, the resignation of the elected MP of the Socialist Party (SP) has come a week before the Prime Minister Edi Rama makes public the names of the "Rama 3", or his third mandate government.

Earlier today, the resignation of the head of the Infectious Diseases Service, Najada Çomo was announced by the Prime Minister Edi Rama, who revealed that she has submitted her resignation from the mandate as an MP to stay close to her team of white shirts in the Infectious Diseases Hospital, due to the situation created by the 'Delta' variant of Covid- 19.

"I am affected by the communication with Najada Çomo, she recently asked me to accept her withdrawal from the new role of deputy, feeling very strong the obligation not to be separated from her team when the Delta version is spreading rapidly.

I also thank her publicly, as I personally thanked her for this meaningful example of duty to those in need, and today I say thank you to all those who have so far given us hope in the face of the invisible enemy.

The war with the invisible enemy is not over, autumn and winter can be difficult again", said Rama in the closing speech of the second governing mandate.
