The Albanian weightlifter, Erkand Qerimaj, has won the silver medal in the breakaway style for the weights of 73 kg at the "Oran 2022" Mediterranean Games. But his race and taking the title was accompanied by strong controversy, as the referees initially called the attempt of the Albanian weightlifter irregular. 

Representatives of the Albanian Weightlifting Federation protested, forcing the judges to retract their initial decision. According to them, the situation was staged to take away the medal from Qerimaja and pass it to his Egyptian opponent. 

However, everything was clarified in a few minutes by awarding the Silver Medal to the red and black weightlifter.
