The escort of the Republican Guard, which was accompanying family members of the judge of the GJKKO (Special Court against Corruption), Irena Gjoka, was involved in an accident on Friday evening. 

It is learned that the guard escort was hit by a police car in Selitë, Tirana. 

As a result of the accident, the driver of the police vehicle, officer with initials I.H., lost control of the car and the vehicle went off the road. 

The cause of the collision is suspected to be moisture on the road, while there were no injuries. 

"On 22.12.2023, in Selitë, the vehicle driven by citizen A. D. collided (only with material damage) with the police vehicle driven by citizen I. H. 

As a result, citizen I. H. lost control over driving the vehicle and the vehicle went off the road. The investigative group is at the scene and is working to clarify the circumstances of the accident," the Police reported.
