EUR 30M Investment Foreseen in Power Network
The Electricity Distribution Operator (OSHEE) has opened the international tender for the "Energy Distribution Investment Program I" project, inviting interested companies to participate. The procedure is carried out in cooperation with the German development bank KfW, as the creditor of the project.
The program is expected to complete its first three components by the end of 2026, which include the modernization of the SCADA system, improvements to the distribution systems, the construction of new substations, and the expansion of the medium voltage network.
The loan was approved in 2019 and has a total value of Euro 30 million. At that time, some of the objectives that are intended to be achieved were announced, starting from increasing the capacity of the distribution system, reducing CO2 emissions through the reduction of technical losses, as well as increasing the security and quality of supply through efficiency and increased reliability of the distribution system.
By making the investments, a 20% reduction of losses in the selected substations and their respective network is foreseen, as well as a reduction of at least 10% of the performance indices for the energy not served in the network connected to the selected substations.
Achieving the objectives of the program is expected to translate into better service for citizens, avoiding power outages, reducing costs, increasing the efficiency of the sector, and consolidating the market.
