Ex-DP Leader Commemorates Azem Hajdari on Death Anniversary

The former chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has commemorated Azem Hajdari on the 24th anniversary of his death.

Basha writes that this date is engraved in the memory of every Albanian as the day when the symbol of democracy was treacherously killed, stressing that he embodied with his work the will of the people to face the communist dictatorship.

"September 12, 24 years ago, is engraved in the memory of every Albanian and especially every democrat, as the day when a symbol of democracy was treacherously killed. Azem Hajdari, the leader of the Student Movement, embodied with his work the will of an entire people to face the communist dictatorship and bring about the long-awaited change.

The dedication and sacrifice of Azem Hajdari have been and will always remain a source of inspiration for all generations, especially for the youngest, who find in his work the features of civic courage, which through selfless commitment turns politics into a tool of service of good, which does not belong to violence, crime or corruption.

Therefore, his name will always be remembered with gratitude and pride, as the most beautiful testimony of the desire and unstoppable energy of a people to fight for freedom and to build a better future for Albania through its fruits," Basha said.
