Farmers Protest against Milk Production's Monopolization in Fier

Cattle breeders from areas near Levan in Fier rose this Tuesday in protest against the monopolization of milk production.

According to them, the factories in the country have reduced the price of milk from 160 new lek to 120 new lek, a reduction which has brought a financial crisis for livestock farmers, forcing some of them to close their businesses by taking flocks of sheep to the slaughterhouse.

They unanimously demand the revision of the price of milk and the processing factories not to be monopolized.

These livestock farmers claim that they have many problems, starting from the maintenance of the pastures, to the rented land, as well as the market, which is missing.

Protesters blocked the axis that connects Levan with the Fier-Vlora highway in the hope that their voice will be heard at the highest levels to protect the interests of livestock farmers.

Traffic police forces were also present in this axis to convince the protesters to release this axis.
