Fatbardh Kadilli has officially submitted Friday his candidacy for becoming the Chairman of the Democratic Party, with the elections being held on June 13, 2021.  

After submitting the candidacy, Kadilli talked to the media, saying that he feels much more superior to the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha. Among other things, Kadilli outlined some of his political virtues, adding that he would never betray Democrats. 

"Today I ran for the leader of the Democratic Party. It is an important moment for the DP. There are multiple emotions, it is a turning point. Although it is an asymmetric race in terms of candidate means. The acting chairman does not even leave the office and has at his disposal all the means that were organized to face the opponent Edi Rama. Now he will be in front of me as a candidate. 

But there is another thing, which is moral asymmetry, I feel many times superior to him. I come to this race to serve the DP and not to be served. I cme to this race facing the values, purity, political integrity, experience, ability to keep the word given, the ability demonstrated in 30 years in the DP to be loyal to this party. I am a man who keeps my word, I have contributed, I have never betrayed DP. I have never betrayed any of the Democrats and I will not. To revive the DP, to make it open and winning," said Kadilli.
