Durrës Prosecution Office sought "Remand in Custody" for five officials from Rrogozhinë Municipality, accused of committing the criminal offenses of "Abuse of Office," "Falsification of documents" and "Fraud" concerning reconstruction funds, leading to a loss of 353,471,090 Lek to the state budget.

Durrës District Court has approved Durrës Prosecution's request regarding the following persons: M.M. (former employee of Rrogozhinë Municipality), Xh.U. (currently, head of  Youth and Sports Office in Rrogozhinë Municipality), B.B. (municipal employee), E.L. (former employee), and E.R. (currently a specialist in human resources office of Rrogozhinë Municipality).

Investigations indicate that these individuals were involved in the aforementioned criminal activities in at least 78 cases. The compensation awarded for earthquake damage was not for housing, instead, their files listed other types of structures, including pig and cow sheds as well.

Alongside the arrested people, 78 others who assisted in obtaining reconstruction funds are also under investigation and are facing charges of "Fraud" as stipulated in Article 143 of the Criminal Code.
