Four Northern Kosovo Mayors Resign due to Reciprocity Rules

Mayors of northern municipalities, North Mitrovica, Zveçan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok have resigned after the decision of Serbs to leave the institutions of Kosovo.

Apart from the mayors, councilors in the municipal assemblies from the ranks of the Serbian List also resigned.

A day ago, the Serbian List announced the removal of Serbs from Kosovo's institutions.

In the northern part of Mitrovica, this Sunday at 12 o'clock a general public meeting will be held.

Warnings of the Serbian List to leave the institutions of Kosovo have come after the decision of the Kosovo authorities to suspend the director of the Kosovo Police for the northern region, Nenad Gjuri?.

The latter refused to implement the decision of the Government of Kosovo on the re-registration of cars with license plates issued by Serbia in Kosovo.
