Four Russian Tourists Found Dead in Albania, Murder the Main Investigation
The death of four Russian tourists in a hotel in Qerret has been registered as a criminal offense "murder", Albaniandailynews.com learned. The investigative group has decided to register the investigation with this accusation, despite the fact that they have not yet come to a conclusion.
Four members of a family from Moscow were found dead on Friday in the SPA area of ​​the hotel, while the hotel employee had gone to give them the order they had placed.
Sergey Burenkov, 60, and his wife Natalya Burenkova, 58, from Moscow, were on holiday in Albania with their daughter Katya, 31, and her partner Nikita Belousov, 37. An important piece of evidence for the investigative team is that of the pool worker, who stated that he had cleaned it on Friday morning.
In his testimony, the employee said that Russian tourists had contacted the hotel and asked for the SPA area to be ready, as they needed to relax, as they had traveled all day on Friday. They had stayed for several hours in North Macedonia, then returned and stopped for a while in Librazhd and finally arrived at the hotel they had booked, in Qerret of Kavaja.
The pool worker stated that the pool has been closed for about a week. The night before the tourists contacted the hotel and asked for the SPA area to be ready. He says that in the early hours of Friday morning he washed the pool, emptied all the water, washed it with a brush, used chlorine to disinfect it and got it ready for tourists to use.
EVIDENCE
It is learned that it was one of the hotel receptionists who became the first witness of the shocking scene and found Russian tourists dead. In his testimony, the receptionist told investigators that it was around 22:30 when he went to the sauna area, where the 2 couples were, and called them several times to inform them that the drinks and fruit were ready.
"I called several times that the drinks and fruits were ready. After no one answered me I went inside the sauna and saw they did not answer me. One was lying on the deck chair, two on the bench and another sitting with his feet on the pool. They were asphyxiated", the hotel employee told investigators.
Preliminary investigations suspect that 4 tourists have been asphyxiated, while other details about the event are expected to be revealed. Police are also investigating another investigation lead that of the ventilation system security if there was a defect. Police escorted the hotel staff to the Commissariats to give their statements regarding the event.
