Fredi Beleri Will Run Himara Municipality until 2027; PBDNJ's Head

Head of Union for Human Rights Party (PBDNJ), Vangjel Dule spoke this Wednesday about the case of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, who is behind bars for electoral corruption.

In a conference to the media, as he was asked about the legal deadlines for taking the oath, Dule emphasized that there is no legal provision that leads the procedure to the end of the mandate and according to him, Beleri will lead the municipality until 2027.

"I would like to tell you that there is no legal deadline that limits Mr. Beleri from taking the oath from the moment he expressed his desire, from the first moment to respond to the law and the Constitution.

As a result, from the moment that Mr. Beleri for no moment refused to take the oath, there is no legal provision that leads the procedure to the end of the mandate.

Mr. Beleri is the elected mayor of the Municipality and as such he will lead it and his mandate ends like all other mayors in 2027", declared Dule.
