Gonxhja: 12M Foreign Visitors in 2025
At the end of 2025, Albania broke the previous year’s record, welcoming over 12 million visitors holding foreign passports, according to ATA.
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, described the figure as evidence of Albania’s growing status as a year-round tourist destination.
Gonxhja added, “Albania continues to attract steady interest beyond the summer season, with a wide array of offerings in cultural, natural, culinary, and sports tourism, among others, further reinforcing its position on the global tourism map.”
Albania has transformed into a year-round tourism destination, offering attractions of all kinds.
In the south, pebble beaches and crystal clear waters attract the highest number of visitors, while in the north, many travellers head to Theth and Valbona. Gjirokastra, Berati, Butrint, Kruja, Tirana, Shkodra, and other destinations remain popular throughout the year for historical and cultural tourism.
Museums and national parks also attracted hundreds of thousands of tourists throughout 2025.
