Investigations Closed for Murder of Tirana's Businessman

One year after the discovery of the body of the businessman Rruzhdi Hoxha, the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has closed the investigations related to this case, bringing the defendant Fredi Rrushi to trial.

The latter is accused of three criminal offences: "Premeditated murder", "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Hiding or disposing of a corpse".

On October 24, 2021, businessman Rruzhdi Hoxha would be reported missing in police station number 5 by his son, immediately setting the police in motion.

On November 5, some clothes of the victim were discovered in the Qafë Molla area in Dajti Mountain, and the businessman's body was found a day later. The dead body was found on a slope covered with gravel and stones.

All suspicions of the murder fell on Fredi Rushi, a close friend of the businessman, whom he had met before the disappearance.
Rushi was actually arrested on October 26 as a person declared internationally wanted by Italian law enforcement authorities for the criminal offense of drug trafficking.

After being kidnapped, the businessman was physically assaulted and then executed with two bullets, which hit him in the neck and in the chest. After the murder, his jacket was removed, which had the mark of a bullet, and after it was torn, it was thrown on the street.
