Italian ex-Referee Disappears in Albania

For more than 10 days, former Italian football referee, Davide Pecorelli has disappeared in Albania. The 45-year-old Italian businessman, who had rented a "Skoda" small vehicle upon arrival at Rinas airport, has disappeared without a trace.

The vehicle was found burned in the area of ​​Gjegjan (Puka), while inside the car were found some materials, which are suspected to be human remains, according to authorities.

In addition to hotels, the former referee also had activities in hairdressing, with several shops in Milan. On the other hand Davide Pecorelli had plans to invest in Albania, where he had reportedly decided to stay for long; his current wife is an Albanian from Vlora.

Albanian authorities still do not have complete data on Pecorelli, Tv Klan reported, while the event is being investigated. Police have notified his family members requesting additional information.

According to information, he had arrived in Albania on January 3. He then traveled in a rented Skoda vehicle. Further, his whereabouts and fate remain a mystery.

Davide Pecorelli, who owns a restaurant in Lama, San Giustino municipality near Perugia, has refereed during his career in the Italian Serie C, and has served as the fourth referee in Serie A.
