Italy, Five Albanians Arrested for Cocaine Trafficking

Authorities in Italy have arrested five Albanian citizens, as involved in a criminal drug trafficking activity. According to Italian media, the detainees are 29, 31, 30, 54 and 21 years old.

The cocaine was reportedly hidden in a fruit and vegetable warehouse in Bari province and was waiting to be transported to Rimini and then marketed.

Investigations began in 2020 and revealed that Albanians were taking drugs from Spain. The narcotics were loaded into a van of the fruit and vegetable company while being transported to Rimini.

According to the Italian police, the whole network was run by the 29-year-old Albanian who is suspected of having trafficked cocaine from Albania to Italy in the past.
