Italy Sentences Albanian to Prison for Shooting at Ex-Girlfriend

Court of Lecce in Italy has sentenced a 22-year-old Albanian man to 10 years in prison after shooting at his ex-girlfriend with an automatic rifle on the night between August 9 and 10, in 2021.

Ibrahim Rudi is accused of opening fire at the young woman, who was with her sister, cousin and two friends on "Kennedy" street in the center of Gallipoli.

Although Rudi fired 18 shots at them, they fortunately survived the attack.

Immediately after the crime, the 22-year-old fled the scene, but was arrested days later.

He was subjected to a summary trial by Judge Simona Panzera and was found guilty of multiple attempted murders.
