January 21 File, Special Court Rejects Appeal of Victims' Families

Special Court has decided in the consultation room not to accept the appeal of the families of the four protesters who were killed in the January 21 protest.

The special judge Elsa Ulliri rejected the appeal of the family members who requested that the investigations be carried out by SPAK and not by the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana.

SPAK declared lack of competence after the report of the family members and delegated the file to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana.

A week ago, the Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja reported to the SPAK the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, the former Minister of the Interior Lulzim Basha as well as Ndrea Prendi, the former head of the Guard who is suspected of having ordered the execution of four citizens.

Family members of four victims have submitted new evidence according to them regarding the murders, but they seek the investigations to be carried out by SPAK and not prosecution of Tirana.
