Kadilli Accuses Basha of Splitting DP

The candidate for chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Fatbardh Kadilli held a meeting this Monday with members of DP in branch no. 9 in Tirana, where he accused Lulzim Basha of splitting the party, from which 4 subjects emerged within a short time.

"4 small parties have emerged from this DP. It does not matter who is to blame, but they would have produced 20.000 votes if we had them. The result would be different. Plus, the whole party was not mobilized in the race, former branch chairmen or leaders and former leaders who were not mobilized, the whole campaign was mobilized in Lul Basha", he said.

Basha's rival was also critical of the protest strategy. “When was Edi Rama scared? When the students came out, we did not take them out, they came out by themselves, but they were also ours. Unfortunately, those who brought them out were Marxists, worse than the Socialists to us.

Even when he went to the theater, Basha was expelled at first. Even when our people went to the protest for chemical weapons, they chased us away. He who says we will overthrow him with protests, the season of protests, are all lies to keep the party in a state of war so that no one thinks of replacing the chairman," he said.

Lulzim Basha, Edith Harxhi, Fatbardh Kadilli and Agron Shehaj are running for the post of DP chairman, while the elections will take place on June 13.
