Kosovo Man Caught with EUR 23,000 at Morina Border

The authorities at the Morina customs have detained a 35-year-old man from Kosovo, who tried to cross the border to Albania without declaring the money he had in his vehicle. 

It is known that the 35-year-old I. M. possessed 23 thousand euros, which he did not declare at the border, bringing his criminal proceedings afterwards. 

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Kuka Judicial District Court, for further actions. 

"The Border Police Services in Morina, within the framework of controls based on risk analysis, with the aim of preventing and combating border illegalities, at the entrance of the Republic of Albania, have passed the second line, for detailed control, the vehicle driven by the citizen G.M. 

During the inspection of this vehicle, the services found 23,000 euros, which the citizen G. M. tried to bring into our country, without declaring it according to the laws in force. 

At the end of the procedural actions, the investigative structures of DVP Kukës referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings began in a free state for the citizen G. M., 35 years old, resident in Tirana, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare cash and valuables at the border". Also, the amount of money was seized as material evidence.
