Kosovo President Shares Details from Meeting with Lajcak

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, hosted this Tuesday the EU's special representative for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, with whom she discussed the current political and security challenges with special emphasis in the north of the country, the efforts to improve the situation, as well as the need to implement the Brussels agreement and the Ohrid annex. 

Osmani said that the criminal groups that have used violence against journalists, policemen and KFOR troops, must face justice. 

In the communique issued by the Presidency, it is stated that Osmani has emphasized that the institutions of Kosovo are committed to overcoming the current challenges together with international partners and that Kosovo has demonstrated the will to resolve disputes, by offering to organize new elections in the north of the country, in accordance with the legal framework of Kosovo. 

"In the context of the recent developments in the north of the country, President Osmani has emphasized that criminal groups and individuals who used violence against the police, journalists, members of KFOR, EULEX and citizens must face justice", it is stated in notification. 

Osmani emphasized that Kosovo remains steadfast in its aim for peace and stability in the country and the region, the Kosovar media write.
