Lear Kurti's Death, Trauma Doctors Interrogated by Prosecution
Tirana Prosecutor's Office has completed this Monday the procedure for questioning the doctors of the Trauma hospital, who underwent interrogation for almost 4 hours regarding the death of Lear Kurti in police station.
In their statements, the 6 doctors of the night shift when Lear Kurti changed have stated that he was without signs of life, which they also noted in the post-mortem medical record.
Doctors have also stated that they did their best to bring the 32-year-old back to life, but did not succeed to do so.
Meanwhile, this Monday, the investigative group is investigating the incident and is examining the hospital's security cameras.
However, Lear Kurti passed away on the evening of October 19 in the "Don Bosko" area.
According to the official information, he did not obey the order of officers to stop and was then taken to the police station in a van, where few hours later he reportedly passed away.
Later on, it was revealed that a small bag of narcotics was found in the young man's stomach, while preliminary results of the autopsy showed that the substance found in the young man's stomach was cocaine.
The young man managed to swallow two small bags with a quantity of cocaine in them shortly before he was caught by the officers.
According to the expert, the cause of Kurti's death was a cardiac arrest caused by an overdose.
