List of 10 MPs Who Refused Parliament Expenses
Despite being eligible to receive it as a benefit, 10 MPs refused to receive the covered expenses in February. In total, 6,272,177 ALL or about 50 thousand euros have been spent from the state budget only for expenses for legislators. But, what stands out most is the fact that some MPs have rejected this benefit unlike the majority of them.
In the list of parliamentarians who have rejected this benefit are 6 socialists and 4 democrats. The Socialist majority is represented in this list with the head of the parliamentary group Taulant Balla, the chairwoman of the Law Committee Klotilda Bushka, the two former ministers of Justice Fatmir Xhafaj and Etilda Gjonaj, the former minister and general secretary of the party Damian Gjiknuri and the businessman Vullnet Sinaj.
The 4 democrats who have refused to receive the allowance are the MP of Vlora district Bujar Leskaj, the former leader of the DP group and the MP of Tirana Alfred Rushaj, the former chairwoman of the Women's Forum, Albana Vokshi, and the MP of the district of Durrës Oerd Bylykbashi.
A total of 117 MPs received the allowance. Among them, a long list of 97 lawmakers have received a significant figure of 75,250 ALL or about 600 euros which is the largest amount obtained for February.
The same figure has been benefited during this month by the former chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha, at that time chairman of the Democrats, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and the chairwoman of the SMI, Monika Kryemadhi, who have benefited 75 250 ALL per month.
