The European Champion in the 3000 meters steeplechase race, Luiza Gega, after the honors and the state ceremony organized by the Prime Minister Edi Rama, has received another high evaluation. Her hometown, Bulqiza, has announced the athlete "Honorary Citizen".

With full consensus and with an extraordinary meeting, the Municipal Council of Bulqiza has given Luiza Gega this title. Meanwhile, the handover ceremony will take place on Monday. 

Luiza Gega was declared the European champion in Munich, in the 3000 thousand meters steeplechase race. Gega set a record in this championship while giving Albania its first medal in athletics. 

She recorded a time of 9'11"31, in a race that she dominated from start to finish. An extraordinary result for Gega and Albanian athletics, which climbed to the top of Europe.
