In May 2021, 15 Albanian auditors, from different industries such as Banks, Government Agencies, etc, participated in the Albanian Audit Championship, hosted by Institute of Internal Auditors | IIA Albania and the Audit Research Center | ARC Institute-Germany.

This is the first step of the tournament, where the best players are selected by each country, who then in the second step will play together and against each other at the European Audit Championship for their country.

In this first step of Audit Knowledge Competition, IuteCredit Albania has been represented by Internal Auditor, Edvin Haxhiraj.

Participants competed virtually as individual players and in groups of three, in an Audit Business game. To achieve the goal of the game, the participants had to answer audit competence questions, bring in their own internal audit topics, challenge other participants regarding their know-how in auditing and use their audit skills wisely.

During this process, participants had the possibility to develop their skills in Operational Audit Techniques, Audit Engagement Management, and other audit topics as well.

After 4 competitive weeks the Albanian marathon on internal audit business game came to an end, and on June 11th, IIA Albania and The Audit Research Institute announced the winners of the Albanian National Audit Championship: (1) Top 5 MVP (2) Top 3 Teams and (3) Albanian Audit National Team, who will represent Albania in the European Audit Championship.

IuteCredit Albania is pleased to announce that in this tournament, Edvin Haxhiraj, IuteCredit Albania has been ranked as one of top auditors, taking the 2nd place as individual and being in the 1st place as Team.

Edvin Haxhiraj, joined IuteCredit Albania 2 years ago in the position of Senior Internal Auditor, after 16 years of experience in the Banking industry, working for local and international Banks, such as National Bank of Greece (NBG), National Commercial Bank (BKT) and American Bank of Investment (ABI).

Prior to joining IuteCredit Albania, Edvin has been working for 8 years as Internal Auditor at National Bank of Greece, developing a strong background in the audit field. While he is also experienced in NPL Management, Credit Analysis and Branches Management.

Edvin, is graduated in Economic Faculty from Istanbul University, Turkey, and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Epoka University, in Albania.

During his working period in IuteCredit Albania, Edvin has contributed to the establishment from scratch of Internal Audit Department as per regulatory requirements (Bank of Albania) and International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. Besides he has added value to the company through the recommendations provided regarding the improvement of internal control system, prevention of fraud and improvement of company’s operations as well.
