Man Who Helped Smuggle 300 Kg of Drugs Handcuffed

Police of Shkodra have handcuffed this Friday the 55-year-old who allegedly cooperated with 2 other citizens, to traffic about 300 kg of cannabis sativa narcotic substance that was seized at the customs of Montenegro.

As a result of the exchange of information with the Montenegrin Police, on 17.09.2023, 2 citizens (father and son) who were transporting drugs, with a truck loaded with boards and pallets destined for Austria, were arrested.

Investigations continue to unravel this criminal activity, as well as to identify and arrest all the citizens implicated in it.

Afterwards, the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the Shkodra General Jurisdiction, for further actions.

"In-depth investigations made it possible to identify and arrest a 55-year-old man who allegedly cooperated with 2 other citizens to traffic about 300 kg of the cannabis sativa narcotic that was seized at the customs of Montenegro.

As a result of the exchange of information with the Montenegrin Police, on 17.09.2023, 2 citizens (father and son) who were transporting drugs, with a truck loaded with boards and pallets destined for Austria, were arrested.

Following the in-depth investigations, carried out in coordination with the Police of Montenegro and under the direction of the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office, for a case of an attempt to traffic narcotics, the specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Section of the Shkodra Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the services of the Special Operational Force of DVP Vlorë, arrested the citizen, 55 years old, resident in Tirana.

From the investigations so far, it is suspected that the 55-year-old detained by the Police, in Saranda, cooperated with the 2 arrested citizens (father and son), during the attempt to traffic about 300 kg of cannabis sativa narcotics that were seized on 17.09.2023 , in the customs of Montenegro.
