Man Who Tried to Kill Ex-Prosecutor Sentenced to Life in Jail

The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKK) has sentenced Redjan Rraja to life imprisonment, while Arjol Halilaj to 35 years in prison, as accused in the assassination of the former prosecutor, Arjan Ndoj, where his driver Andi Maloku was killed and Landi Muharremi was injured.

GJKKO thus accepted SPAK's (Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime) claim for both Rraja and Halilaj. The latter, according to the Special Prosecutor's Office, only had the role of assistant to remove the perpetrators from the scene.

The serious event took place on November 1, 2019. SPAK was able to provide evidence for the perpetrators of the assassination and for the orderers, where another file has been allocated to the latter, which is being investigated separately. The two accused were not present at the hearing where they were defended by lawyers.
