Man Who Voted Twice in Local Elections Taken to Court by Fier Prosecution
Fier Prosecution has wrapped up the investigation and took H.Gj to court for the crime of ‘Voting More Than Once or without Being Identified,' as stipulated in Article 327/a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
Regarding criminal case no. 108 of 2023, the prosecution, after concluding the investigations, has taken citizen H.Gj. as a defendant and requested that the case be submitted to court. The investigations revealed that during the partial local elections in the Municipality of Lushnjë, held on March 6, 2022, H.Gj voted twice at polling center ZAZ 54 Dushk, Municipality of Lushnjë.
Corroborating data from the electronic voter identification PEI), used in every voting center in Albania, confirmed that H.Gj voted once as a commissioner at Polling Center 2818, ZAZ 54, Dushk, under Article 58 of the Electoral Code, and then voted a second time at Polling Center 2817, ZAZ 54, Dushk, as a resident.
