A large fire broke out Thursday afternoon at a warehouse on the Shkozet ring road in Durrës, leaving a significant part of the city without electricity and prompting an emergency response.

According to preliminary and unconfirmed information, the blaze may have started after two high-voltage power lines reportedly snapped due to extreme temperatures and fell onto the warehouse. The building was quickly engulfed in flames, with explosions reported from the area.

Firefighters and police have been deployed to the scene, where crews are working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to two or three nearby homes.

Heavy smoke has significantly disrupted traffic along the Shkozet–Plepa section of the Durrës ring road. Six fire engines are involved in the firefighting operation, while authorities continue to assess the situation and the cause of the incident.
