Large-scale anti-drugs operation is being performed this Friday evening by the the Service for Internal Affairs and Complaints (SHCBA), in the framework of which, a member of the RENEA forces has also ended up in handcuffs.

The Albaniandailynews.com has learned that the name of the arrested RENEA officer is Rael Luli, and that four more persons have been remanded into custody, but their identities have not been disclosed yet.

Meanwhile, it is expected for the SHÇBA to release a formal statement regarding the operation and the role of the apprehended officer in narcotics trafficking is still unknown.

According to sources, the operation is ongoing. Checks are being carried out on some apartments for drugs or illegal items. Effective among those arrested for distributing narcotics in Tirana. At the finalization of the operation, the CIA will provide full details.
