Michel Confident Ukraine Will Be Granted Candidate Status

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, also spoke at the summit of EU heads of state in Brussels, where he admitted in front of the microphones that the union would give Ukraine the status of a candidate country.

Meanwhile, the head of the EC has chosen not to talk about the integration process of the Western Balkans and the "Bulgarian issue", which is holding hostage the opening of negotiations for North Macedonia and Albania.

"It's a crucial moment for the European Union. I am confident that today we will grant candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova and express a clear and strong European perspective for Georgia," he noted.
