Interior Minister Taulant Balla held a meeting this Tuesday with local government structures in Saranda, where he declared that the phenomenon of environmental crimes must end once and for all. 

Balla emphasized that Saranda, known as the "Maldives of Europe", should be protected and requested exemplary intervention for anyone who "kills" the environment. 

"We must protect Saranda, the 'Maldives of Europe' at all costs, from any form of environmental crime. Let us never allow the mistakes of the past to be repeated. 

That illegal construction that appeared two days ago should put us all on alert. How is it possible? Exemplary intervention and immediate return to the previous state is required. 

I want a new role for the institution of Prefect and Sub-Prefect in the territory and very soon we will bring to the Parliament the legal changes for this purpose. You need to coordinate the task forces against the arson phenomenon", said Balla.
