Movement of Trucks Albania-Greece Suspended Until Weather Improves

Kakavija Border Police has called Sunday on all drivers of heavy tonnage vehicles who want to travel to Greece, to avoid traveling until the weather conditions improve.

The Local Directorate of Border and Migration Gjirokastra clarified that the Greek Police authorities, clarify circulation in the Greek territory will not be allowed for heavy tonnage vehicles due to the difficult weather conditions, until the latter get better.

However, only vehicles with chains on will be allowed to move throughout the Hellenic territory.

On February 13, the neighboring country’s media reported that northern Greece fell under the power of frigid temperatures and snowfall. Currently, snowfall and ice-cold temperatures have been recorded across Northern Greece, particularly in Florina, Kozani, Kastoria, Kavala, Katerini, and Thessaloniki.

Along with low temperatures and snowfall, meteorologists also predict that Medea will bring about strong thunderstorms around Greece late Saturday through Sunday, as revealed.

Albania has also experienced problems movement-wise as snow has fallen in the main road segments of the country, accompanied by freezing temperatures and string wind.
