New Minister of Defense in Kosovo, Ejup Macedonci, has said that he has started a new chapter as a soldier, but he remains in the same house and with the same goals, which according to him are the continuous strengthening of the army and membership in NATO. 

Macedonci, who wore the soldier's uniform 25 years ago, has said that he feels honored to have been placed in charge of the ministry that makes the defense and development policies of the Kosovo Security Force. 

"This morning, I was appointed Minister of Defense by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti! On this occasion, I want to thank Prime Minister Kurti for his trust and support so far and in the future! I am honored and privileged to be in charge of the government department that makes the defense and development policies of the Kosovo Security Force, the successor of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Since March 18, 1998, when I wore the KLA uniform, and until July 10, 2023, when I was demobilized from the KSF, I have tried with all my capacities and being, first for the freedom of Kosovo and until today for the construction of the army of. I am at home in the Ministry of Defense and in the Kosovo Security Force, that's why it was so natural to accept the handover of duty today at noon by former Minister Armend Mehaj in the presence of the Commander of the KSF, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari. I thank former Minister Mehaj for his cooperation, especially in the last period. 
After 25 years in uniform, from today a new chapter has started for me as a soldier, but which remains within the same house and with the same goals: the continuous strengthening of the Kosovo army and the membership of our country in NATO, alongside our partners and especially the United States of America. Thank you all for the wishes you sent me. A lot of work awaits us ahead, together with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, with Commander Bashkim Jashari and with the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo," he said in his reaction.
