Nurse Punished for Beating Up Elderly Inside Retirement Home

Nurse Aurona Pelaj and two other nurses who beat the mother of the martyr Taulant Nuraj in the "Orenda" center for the elderly in Peja, have had their licenses revoked. 

The news was made known by the Chamber of Nurses of Kosovo through a notice which states that the license has been withdrawn from Aurona Pelaj, Altina Rexhepi, Giltiana Neziri and Remzije Kuqi-Gashi. 

"Today, the emergency meeting of the OIK Prosecutor, the Ethical Council and the President of the OIK was held in relation to the recent events that took place yesterday, in connection with the exercise of violence by 4 nurses against an elderly woman in the Nursing Home" Orenda' in Pejë, in which a decision was made to withdraw the License and delete the Health Professionals from the OIK register for members: 

1. Aurona Pelaj with membership number OIK-1033/22, health profile "Bachelor of Science in Nursing" license number KO-37133/A-06-20; 

2. Altina Rexhepi with membership number OIK-279/21, health profile "Bachelor of Midwifery" with license number KO-32611/A-06-1; 

3. Giltiana Neziri with membership number OIK-1376/19, health profile "General Nurse"; 

4. Remzije Kuqi - Gashi with membership number OIK-7262/18, health profile "Medical Technician" with license number KO-27194/A-05-20", the announcement states.
