Opposition Calls Nationwide Protest Demanding Prime Minister’s Resignation

Opposition leader Sali Berisha announced Saturday that a nationwide protest will be held on April 17 in the capital Tirana, calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Speaking at a press conference, Berisha urged citizens to join the demonstration, framing it as a decisive moment of public opposition against the government.

“On April 17, Albania will gather in Tirana for the resignation of Edi Rama,” Berisha said, accusing the prime minister of undermining the country and attacking international partners.

Berisha also issued strong warnings about political stability, claiming that the government’s actions would prevent lasting peace and stability in the country. He further alleged links between the ruling administration and criminal networks, while emphasizing that the opposition remains “stronger and more determined than ever” in its mission.

The planned protest marks the latest escalation in tensions between Albania’s government and opposition, as political rhetoric intensifies ahead of upcoming political developments.
