Over 2000 Fines Imposed by Road Police
Traffic Police has deployed automatic radars, smart cars, educational drones, on all the main roads of the country starting from Rruga e Kombit, Hani i Hotit to Saranda, in order to prevent road accidents.
Speeds of up to 230 km/h were recorded in the framework of these controls. The police informs that 2125 fines have been imposed, specifically 553 for wrong passing; 598 for speeding over the permitted rates; 334 for not wearing a seat belt; 513 for use of the cellular device; 127 for not wearing a protective helmet by motor vehicle drivers. 123 drivers have had their driving licenses suspended for a period of 3 to 12 months.
Furthermore, the Traffic Police has suspended 21 driving licenses, with a term of 2 to 18 months, for driving under the influence of alcohol and 11 for driving in the opposite direction.
