Over 500,000 Italians Visited Albania This Summer; PM

Over half a million Italians have chosen Albania to rest this summer. Prime Minister Edi Rama in an interview for Rai News 24, emphasized that during this year there has been an influx of Italian tourists in the country.

"This year is extraordinary because we have a boom of Italian tourists reaching half a million, which is an extraordinary thing. It makes us smile because we love Italy and to see Italians here is a win-win moment in terms of morale as Italy hosted us for many years and made us feel at home while making Italians feel at home is what we have always dreamed of."

Despite the fact that the prices offered in Albania to rest are cheaper than in other European countries, Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasizes that such a trend will not continue for long.

"In terms of beauty, Italy cannot be placed in second place by anyone. Albania is a small Italy and it is clear that it is not an expensive place for foreign tourists. I mean, yes, the prices will increase, but currently they are affordable. But for Italians it's not just a matter of prices, but also the fact that they feel at home, everyone knows Italian and if you say I'm Italian, you're like one of us."

The head of the Albanian government has revealed that he vacations every summer in the south of Albania between Vlora and Saranda.
