Pogradec/Two Arrested, One Wanted for Hauling of 57 Clandestines

Two people have been handcuffed and another has been declared wanted by Pogradec police after being accused of trafficking illegal immigrants.

In the framework of "Perimeter" operation, it was possible to catch 57 illegal immigrants in a truck type "Iveco", owned by the citizen AO, driven by the citizen ML, in which 57 illegal immigrants were found, against whom a reward of 1,000 euros each, was promised a move to EU countries.

"The services of the Pogradec Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the structures for the Investigation of Crimes in DVP Korça, the Border Police and the Traffic Police following the police operation codenamed 'Perimeter', have hit another case of criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign citizens for illegal border crossing, against the reward, as a result of which ML citizens, 36 years old, were arrested in flagrante delicto; E. D., 28 years old, resident in Korça and A. O., 38 years old, resident in Tirana, was declared wanted.

The police services, at the exit of the city of Pogradec, have seized the truck type "Iveco", owned by the citizen AO, driven by the citizen ML, in which 57 illegal immigrants were found, who for a reward of 1000 euros each, was promised passage to EU countries.

From the further investigative actions, it results that the accomplice in this criminal activity was also the citizen E. D., who performed the road control, with the vehicle type 'Benz'", it is said in the police notification.
