Four police officers have been placed Monday under investigation after the escape of 22-year-old Kristjan Medolli from the premises of the Korça Court the day before. 

Police Surveillance Agency (AMP) announced that citizens with initials G.S., F.S., E.S. acting inspector, as well as the citizen M.J. acting commissioner. 

According to the AMP, the two police officers, G. S and F. S., did not comply with the legal obligations regarding the manner of escorting arrested or detained persons. 

It also turns out that Inspector E. S., contrary to standard work procedures and in the capacity of patrol officer, has notified only one of the patrol officers of the escort to court of the citizen K. M. 

"On 08.05.2022, the Regional Directorate Elbasan - Korça and AMP in consultation with the ready Prosecutor, referred the first investigative materials at large for 4 employees of the Korça Police Commissariat, suspected of committing the crime" Abuse of duty ”. 

Investigative materials were referred to the charge of police officers; 

Inspector G. S., acting Head of Security Zones at the Korça Police Commissariat, 
Inspector F. S., on duty General patrol service body, at the Korça Police Commissariat 
Inspector E. S., on duty General Patrol service Corps 
Commissar M. J., acting Head of the Order Section at the Korça Police Commissariat 
The referral was made after on 08.05.2022, while the police officers accompanied the citizen K. M. to the premises of the Court of First Instance Korça (arrested person) for the assessment of the security measure, while this citizen was riding in the vehicle of police, inside the premises of the Court garage, left two police officers and was caught shortly afterwards by the services of the Korça Police Commissariat. 

Investigative actions have shown that the two police officers, G. S and F. S. did not fulfill their functional duty by not implementing the legal obligations for the manner of escorting arrested or detained persons. 

It also turns out that Inspector E. S., contrary to standard work procedures and in the capacity of patrol officer, has notified only one of the patrol officers of the escort to court of the citizen K. M. 

Also, in relation to this event, it is suspected that the police officer Commissar M. J., in the capacity of direct superior and in the absence of the Order Specialist, in violation of the law, did not take measures to organize services to escort the citizen K. M", announced the AMP.

However, the incident happened yesterday where the young man, who was being held in the Drenova detention rooms, left through the tunnels of the Korça court. 

The 22-year-old, after being acquainted with the security measure of arrest and imprisonment for the theft charge, was escorted to the police car to be taken to the detention rooms in Elbasan. At that moment he managed to leave running out of the perimeter wall of the court. 

It is not known whether the main garage door or the exterior enclosure door was closed as is the case in such cases. Police have set up numerous checkpoints to enable the capture of the 22-year-old.
