President Commemorates First Anti-Communist Protest in Albania

President of the Republic, Ilir Meta has commemorated Friday, on March 26, the first anti-communist protest in Albania, which according to him, was the strongest one in Albania.

Through a message on the social networks, the Head of State emphasized that the anti-communist uprising of Kavaja is a vivid message for the Albanian youth, which today faces the evil that has taken hostage the European future of the country.

Heart of democracy to all people who do not want to wake up in a dictatorship is protesting, underlined President Meta.

"As every March 26, we commemorate today the first strongest anti-communist protest in Albania, after decades of terror, oppression and isolation. The first protest, when the young people of Kavaja, marched in the streets of the city with the calls ‘Free our comrades’, ‘Down with the Dictatorship’, ‘Freedom-Democracy’.

The anti-communist uprising in Kavaja is a living message for the Albanian youth, who today face the evil that has taken Albania's European future hostage. Protest is the heart of democracy for those who do not want to wake up to dictatorship tomorrow", emphasized President of Albania.
