According to him, this severely damages the credibility of investors and the country's progress towards the EU. As Meta states, corruption, abusive practices, PPPs and monopolies are closely linked to the negative phenomena evidenced by the Moneyval report.

"I consider very worrying the inclusion of Albania again in the gray list of the Council of Europe, in relation to the fight against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, which severely damages the credibility of investors and the country's progress towards the European Union.

I am deeply concerned for the fact that Albania, although years ago had won this battle and was not listed in this list, now according to the report published by the CoE MONEYVAL, has been placed on extended monitoring and must report further to measures taken in the fight against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.

Corruption, abusive practices, PPPs and monopolies are closely related to the negative phenomena evidenced by the MONEYVAL report.

I express the conviction that as long as these practices are not punished, Albania will not have progress even in the fight against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing", President Meta wrote.
