President of the Republic, Ilir Meta appreciated today with the title "Knight of the Order of Skanderbeg" the prominent architect, Gani Strazimiri (after death) through a solemn ceremony.

In his greeting speech to the family members and personalities present at the ceremony, President Meta noted that the deceased Professor Stazimiri is considered as the most prominent figure in the field of construction monuments’ evaluation in Albania.

Late Strazimiri has worked diligently to trace monumental values, select the most representative examples, document, protect, restore, study and publish these values during his entire life, pointed out the Head of State.

“I am happy that we are together today to appreciate a remarkable multifaceted figure, the architect Prof. Gani Strazimiri.

Professor Stazimiri was convinced of the importance of creating specialists prepared for fields of national importance, in particular such as that of culture monuments in Albania.

Thanks to his great contribution and in cooperation with prominent local and foreign specialists, the museum area of the city of Berat was determined according to its historical and construction values, thus achieving a concrete experience, to continue further with the zoning of other historical-cultural centers of Albania, such as Gjirokastra, or the museum complexes of Kruja and Korça bazaars”, declared among others the President of Albania.
