Through a special ceremony, the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta praised this Wednesday Albanian champions, prominent in the sport of wrestling. 

With the title "Grand Master" the Head of State decorated Mentaz Allajbeg (after his death): "With gratitude for his valuable contribution, given to the quality development of the sport of wrestling in Albania. In appreciation for the development and promotion of wrestling in all areas inhabited by Albanians, preparing prominent champions and medalists in the Olympic and World Games. ”; 

Mr. Nikoll Grimaj: “As a sign of appreciation for the contribution and high results achieved in the sport of freestyle wrestling, as a champion athlete with the teams of 'Vllaznia', 'Luftetari', '17 November ',' Dinamo 'and our National Team by was distinguished for the dignified representation of Albanian wrestling in international activities”; and Mr. Besnik Shehu: “With gratitude for the high results achieved as a champion in the sport of classical wrestling with the team 'Student' and the National Team, standing out as a coach in the preparation of quality opportunities, and dignified representation of Albanian wrestling in the arena international ”. 

While with the title "For Special Civic Merits" was awarded Mr. Kujtim Nina: "Grateful for the contribution given to the development and promotion of traditional Albanian wrestling, appreciated for the financial support to wrestling and judo athletes, for their quality representation in national and international competitions”. 

President Meta has also shared on social media details regarding the award ceremony.

"With the presence of many honoured personalities of Albanian wrestling, today I had the pleasure to praise three champions of this popular and successful sport in our country, the unforgettable head coach of the National Team, Mentaz Allajbegu, the medallist of "Vllaznia" Nikoll Grimaj, the successful Besnik Shehu, as well as one of the most prominent and generous supporters of this sport, Kujtim Nina. 

Acknowledgment for the valuable contribution given to the quality development of wrestling in Albania, for the excellent results achieved over the years by raising the national flag in sports arenas, as well as for the preparation of champions and prominent medallists who have worthily represented us at the Olympic Games and world. 

Their work and deserved successes will always remain an example of inspiration in the education of young athletes, for the further development of this sport with national traditions, so that we have other champions and more promising results in the future," Meta wrote.
